Hunting cape buffalo in Africa has always been a dream of The Outdoors Rambler. Buffalo are one of Africa's "Big 5," a "dangerous game" species known for being unpredictable and ornery. Here is the scoop. They can be as delicious as they are tough - tough as in being able to take several punches from the most powerful firearms. We wanted to make Buffalo Tail Soup, a version of a traditional ox tail soup. We cut away the buffalo's tail and, along with Chef Never Mashonga and Professional Hunter Pieter Taylor of Phillip Bronkhorst Safaris, we take you step-by-step through the soup recipe preparation, wrapping up with a critique and sampling around the beautiful lodge fire pit.
